What's Happening?

Lots of things are happening in Lake Shore! We were recognized with an award ceremony for the restoration of our gates. Pictures are here, go take a look.

We are also planning to have a movie night once a month during the summer. E-mail us at
website@lapsjax.org (or put them in the comments section below) with your suggestions for movies you'd like to see with your neighbors on a warm summer night and we will put up a poll here on the blog with the most popular titles so everyone can vote.

  1. I was discussing with some of your neighbors tonight how pleased I am with the productivity of LAPS this year. I got to thinking, we have finished the repair of our arches, had a hugely successful yard sale, been recognized by the Historic commission with an award, had 2 successful movie nights, Adopted a Highway, have had wonderful guest speakers at our meetings, have gotten our website and blog up and running, formed a vital connection with each other to notify everyone of what is happening on our streets and we have the Luminaria to look forward to, as well as possibly a Fall Festival. You guys are amazing. NOW THAT"S A GRASS ROOTS CAMPAIGN TO BE PROUD OF!! THANK YOU EVERYONE!

  2. Okay, I would like to post some suggestions for our third and final Summer Outdoor Movie Night. If you have not attended before, it is quite an enjoyable experience! These are suggestions I have heard and I am also open to ANY other suggestions. Movie night has been a great success, thank you Paul, Betsy, Jeremy, Michael, and Brian.
    1. Maltese Falcon
    2. How to Train Your Dog
    3. Napolean Dynamite
    4. Little Miss Sunshine
    5. Monty Python

I will personally make a decision about which movie will be shown based on any and all responses we get. So everyone can blame me if it is not what you wanted to see. LOL. Movie Night is August 20th. No the bugs are not a problem and NO it is not too hot. Please respond with something by August 17th. I will be out of town on the 17h and 18th so I need a little leeway. thanks everyone.
