Meeting Matters

Thanks to everyone who rowed, skied or swam to get to the LAPS meeting tonight. It was a pretty good turnout despite the weather. And it was worth it to find out that LAPS members get 30% off at The Cedar River Club (formerly the Duck Pond). Sweet!

Some of the upcoming events to put on your calendar are:

  • Spruce up Bayview Park September 18th 10 am to 2 pm
  • Neighborhood/LAPS Rally October 3 3pm (our highway cleanup at the half bridge will be earlier that day)
  • Yearly planning meeting at Cedar River Club November 7th 3 pm

    September's Business Sponsor will be Wild Hogg Fabrication. They are located at the corner of Lake Shore and Blanding. Mr. Nuzzo will be bringing smoked pork buttsfor everyone to taste made in the smokers he builds.They also work on trailers, metal fabrication, mobile welding and custom metal work. Please attend the meeting on September 27th and show your support for this business and enjoy some good food.

    Was looking for info on how to join on your website, but could not find it. Is there a treasurer to send a check and application to? Who would I make the check out to?

    I can email a Membership form to you or I can mail it to your home or you may pick one up at the next General Meeting which is on September 27th @ the Lake Shore Women's Club, 6:30 p.m. Another option is to mail your check made payable to LAPS at P.O. Box 7275, Jacksonville FL 32238 and then fill out your form at a later date. We will also be at Bayview/Lake Shore Schools Park on September 18th @ 10:00 a.m. doing some park improvements. Would love for you to stop in and meet and I could answer any questions you might have as well. Let me know which option works for you and I will make sure I get what you need sent.
