Tonight's Meeting

What a great meeting tonight! So good to see so many neighbors in attendance to hear the presentation from the St. Johns River Water Management District on Waterwise Landscaping. Those books on landscaping she gave us will really help us figure out how to "put the right plants in the right place."

The SHADCO meeting will be on Thursday evening January 27th at Ortega United Methodist Church and there will be a presentation on Crime and Older Adults. Fo more information e-mail jsozone4@jaxsheriff.org or call 573-3165.

Our quarterly cleanup of our "mile" at the half bridge by the railroad tracks will be this Saturday morning at 9. The more help we have, the faster we'll get it done!

  2. When did you change the fee for a business membership? Maybe that will get more businesses involved!

  4. Hey, the writing on roadside signs that are meant to promote the annual community yard sale are WAY TO SMALL to read as you drive down the street. You would have to stop in the road and get out of your car to read. The design looks great, however they are useless for the purpose intended. Sorry to be so to the point !!

  5. Unfortunately, signs cost $$ and a few have been put up that are larger. The smaller ones on the utility poles are actually meant to be read by folks who are out walking the neighborhood in this lovely weather we've been having. We did not have the volunteer man power to take fliers door to door this year but they are posted at many local businesses. We do the best we can with what we have to work with and are always graciously thankful for anyone who wants to donate time or resources for our community.

  6. The new signs, while not as pretty, are much more readable. Thanks to whoever took that on.
